Just a couple hours east of Istanbul lies Bursa. This lovely city nestled against the verdant foothills of Ulu Dag was the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. Remnants of its illustrious past can still be found in the abundance of its early Ottoman architecture, Green Mosque and Tomb of Mehmet I.
